Overall, the new set is beautiful, well-made, and arrived in a reasonable amount of time.
This is my second set (collar & leash) I have ordered from Duke & Fox. The first time I went with full gold for the buckle and other adornments. Unfortunately overtime the gold finish had flaked off making the writing difficult to read. It lasted three years which I felt was reasonable and just wanted an overall refresh on her collar.
I accidentally selected the hybrid buckle while choosing all other options in gold. On the whole, the hybrid buckle feels noticeably less robust than the metal counterpart. I would exercise caution in relying solely on it as a connection point for a dog, especially if they tend to pull or exhibit leash-related challenges. The plastic component appears somewhat fragile and could potentially give way under pressure.
It's important to note that my intent here is not to express dissatisfaction with my purchase, but rather to highlight the importance of careful attention during the ordering process. I wish I had been more attentive or that there had been a more detailed, close-up image on the sales page to clarify the distinction between the plastic and metal components of the buckle. This was entirely a result of user error on my part, and I hope that sharing my experience can be of assistance to others as they navigate their own ordering.
My son absolutely loved his leash and collar! Made very well and he is awaiting when his dapple colored long haired dachshund will be ready to bring home in January 2023. Thank you so much !!💙💙
